Summer....

Summer has finally arrived, well almost. The rains still persist from week to week with periods of bright sunshine here and there. The farmers are in full swing, cutting the grass and storing it away for a Winter's day, and the endless fight with hay fever goes on...

The Red Kites & Buzzards follow the farmer's tractor as they cut the summer grass releasing the rodents hidden beneath. A watchful eye is ever present for a good meal.

The cows are out in the fields enjoying the real grass of Summer, the fresh air and evenings outside away from the farmer's shed. But the insect torment still remains, with no rest to be had.  I feel sorry for them all as being choked with insects doesn't make for a pleasant existence.

Over in the larger forest north of home the Fox cubs are growing up fast, enjoying some time to themselves, exploring their own little world, enjoying the warm rays of sunshine. But with one pair of eyes always alert to any danger though.

June is a month of remembrance which is overlooked more and more as time goes by, as new generations live on in a different world to our parents and grandparents. No matter the conflict, no matter which side, spare a few moments to remember those who gave us our lives we have today.

Until next month, enjoy and embrace nature.
